Portrait of Dylan Alvarez, Los Angeles photographer and member of Hollywood Undead.

Dylan Alvarez is an LA native who grew up moving between Baldwin Park, West Covina, Highland Park and Sunland-Tujunga.

He was given his first camera by his mom as a teenager. She had always been the one behind the lens growing up, and eventually passed a film camera on to him. For a while, it mostly sat unused.

After high school, he was immersed in LA’s band scene at the height of the MySpace era, a time of shows, house parties and a scene that felt like nothing else. It was around then that he started taking a camera everywhere and actually using it.

Today, much of his work comes from life on the road as a member of Hollywood Undead, photographing what happens around the shows, backstage and in between. Outside of touring, he shoots the streets, places and people he comes across wherever he happens to be.

This site brings those photographs together, from years on the road to everyday moments closer to home.
